25.03.05 Web marketing success for Britannia After the successful launch of Britannia's new website in October 2004, Day1 has continued to expand the information available on the site and has been busy developing a monthly e-news facility which gives updates on recent news and forthcoming events. Event-related content is managed in-house by Britannia's team, which means that they can write and submit updates instantly without the expense of paying a web programmer. "As the season hots up, it's important that we keep our audiences up to speed with what's on offer. We are increasingly seen as the leading provider of regatta and corporate sailing events on the south coast and our new website is going a long way to supporting that profile" comments Simon Boulding, marketing manager. "We're delighted with the stats on visitors to the site which show that since the launch in October last year, site traffic has doubled. And it continues to rise." Day1 has also helped streamline the process of regatta management by publishing on-line versions of their crew adminstration pack. Once signed up, crews can access and complete forms on-line, which not only saves everyone time, but is a much more efficient methodology. And of course it is a considered further expression of Britannia brand values. With so many visitors to the site generated by focused and regular e-news, the site is highly ranked by Google even before the benefit of search engine optimisation takes effect. "The website is one of our main marketing tools and we are delighted that since its launch, we can report that our bookings are up on last year and perhaps more significantly, we are attracting new corporate sponsors and regatta partners, which is a key strategic objective as well as being very good for business," concludes Boulding.
