07.02.06 There's a lot more to Day1 than graphic design. We were asked the other day to describe ourselves. Well, as the business grows and develops, so does the description. With our roots firmly planted in the disciplines of 'old fashioned' graphic and information design, we help provide visual solutions to a range of challenges - from report and accounts and corporate brochures to branding and exhibitions. But that's just the tip of the iceberg and this case study illustrates why: Task - to help a consortium, bidding for a £30million plus healthcare contract, put together a bid that will portray not only their proposal, but the credentials and personality of the team. Solution - start with the team. Align objectives, capture experiences, develop a plan. It's like establishing the vision and values for a company and putting in a strategy that everyone can work with. But there's just 4 months to do it in! And whilst the team gets on with the work, we're looking at teasing out the issues that are specific to the project - looking at the soft messages, the unique selling proposition of the team, what really matters to the end clients. We research, listen, interpret and interrogate. And then we apply - bringing all the threads together from the team, weaving in the messages and ensuring that the proposal is clear and intelligible as well attractive and interesting to read. And with only 2 weeks for collation and production, the format and methodology has to be well thought through [and foolproof] to make it all come together to hit the deadline. So we started out as graphic designers and have incorporated management consultancy, team building, copywriting, project management and print management in the skillset along the way. And there's proof that it works! Two news stories from our clients: C4C wins... The news broke just before Christmas that the Caring 4 Croydon team won. This is what they had to say about it... Press Release: February 2006 gbprimarycare is shortlisted on three 4th wave LIFT schemes so far... Alan Gavurin, LIFT health planning and strategy director is delighted with their success in achieving the shorlist on every LIFT scheme they have bid so far. Feedback from a member of one of the client teams commented "We congratulate you on how you have raised your game in both your presentations and supporting material, it represents a significant step forward and has helped secure gbprimarycare's place in the top quarter of LIFT consortia." So the proof, as they say, is in the pudding.
